Sept moments de joie

Disciplines

A film by Cirque Éloize

Joy (noun): An exhilarating feeling of intense happiness and pleasure.

Both an art film and a documentary, Sept moments de joie is a journey into the minds of artists from very different worlds. An intimate study of their shared humanity.

Under the artistic direction of Benoit Landry and told through the lens of director Lilli Marcotte, seven guest choreographers—Ivanie Aubin-Malo, Virginie Brunelle, Claudia Chan Tak, Christian Garmatter, Axelle Munezero, Manuel Roque and Edgar Zendejas—bring to life short pieces that combine dance and the circus arts.

The pieces follow on from one another like objects in a cabinet of curiosities as the creators talk to us about art and creativity, the desire to be together, to rise up and feel alive, the search for balance, the power of blissful moments and the importance of cultivating joy. The Sept moments de joie experience is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
