Two Cirque Éloize projects nominated at the 28th prix Gémeaux

The Prix Gémeaux nominees were announced on June 6 by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. Two Cirque Éloize projects are among the finalists of this 28th edition. The recording of RAIN receives three nominations whilst the series LA VIE EST UN CIRQUE IV is nominated in two categories.

The series LA VIE EST UN CIRQUE IV is nominated for Best variety or arts series (Michel Bissonnette, Louise Jobin, André Larin, Vincent Leduc, Brigitte Lemonde, Zone3) and the episode “The Evolution of Tango” is nominated for Best Photography and Lighting: humor, varieties (John Amyot, Zone3). Cirque Éloize was responsible for the artistic direction, the casting and the direction of the six episodes, which were also filmed in our studios. Zone3 and Cirque Éloize worked in collaboration on all four seasons of LA VIE EST UN CIRQUE.

RAIN, the film, was nominated for Best Variety or Performing Arts Special (Luc Chatelain, Marie-Odile Demay, Marie-Claude Filteau Echo Media), Best Director : series, arts or variety (Mario Janelle, Echo Media) and Best Editing: Comedy, Variety (Louis-Martin Paradis, Echo Media). Cirque Éloize’s show RAIN, was written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca. It toured in 22 countries from 2004 to 2012 and seduced Broadway.

ABOUT THE PRIX GÉMEAUX Every year, since 1987, the Prix Gémeaux honor the best television production in French language in Canada. Since 1986, the Gemini/Gémeaux sculpture, created by Scott Thornley, symbolizes excellence in television in Canada. It also represents the duality of Canadian television: creativity and technology, artists and artisans, illusion and reality, as well as French and English programming.
